Utah’s statewide court system is divided into eight geographic districts. Districts 1-4 generally cover northern Utah and the Wasatch Front. Districts 5-8 cover central, southern, and eastern Utah.
Within each district and county, there are both district courts and justice courts. The jurisdiction of each type of court varies with the location of the court and the nature of the case.
